In the summer of 2021, a fresh remix of the legendary Dino Dvornik song “Nadahnuće” was released by none other than our dear friend DJ Lomax from Switzerland. This collaboration started during the summer of 2020. Right on the beach of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Split, at Mistral Beach Bar. The vibrant atmosphere created by DJ Matthew Bee’s residency at Mistral, with guest performances from DJ Lomax, spark inspiration.
As DJ Lomax recalls, the perfect mix of sun, sea, and great music led to a wave of ideas. After returning to Switzerland, he got to work and, by the following summer, had completed his remix of this iconic song by the legendary Split native Dino Dvornik.
While chilling in the shade at Mistral, Žele Maretić, the host of “Želina Vesela Lista” on Radio Dalmacija, joined the group. The casual, joyful vibe led to a spontaneous decision: DJ Lomax and DJ Matthew Bee, who humorously recalls his role as the “prosciutto slicer and wine carrier,” were invited to appear on Žele’s Thursday night show on Radio Dalmacija to share their story.
The Role of Tourism in Shaping the DJ Scene in Split
Since Croatia became a member of the European Union and tourism rapidly developed, especially with the introduction of the Ultra Music Festival in Split in 2015, the local DJ scene has expanded significantly. What began as a small boutique agency with just a couple of DJs, including close collaborators like DJ Lomax and DJ Matthew Bee, has since grown into a larger operation, now featuring a roster of 10 to 15 DJs. Despite this growth, we’ve remained true to our boutique roots, providing a premium service tailored to high-end hospitality clients, which are now more prevalent thanks to the tourism boom.
Our DJs have become a staple in some of the hottest spots along the Adriatic Coast, performing and holding residencies at venues like Bokamorra Pizzaurant, Mistral Beach Bar, Joe’s Beach, as well as select party boats and high-end hotels such as Ambasador, Amphora, and Radisson Blu. The influx of international visitors and luxury tourism development has only enhanced the demand for premium DJ services, solidifying our place in the evolving Croatian nightlife scene.
