A 5 litre tank fill of fluid for our fog and bubble machines, at EUR 20. This is a consumable top-up, not a machine rental. Every Smoke Machine and Bubble Machine booking already includes one tank fill in the rental price — you only need to add this if your event will run through more than that.

When You Actually Need This

Most events do not. One included fill covers a typical wedding reception of 4-6 hours with intermittent use, which is how these machines are normally run: a burst for the first dance, a haze layer before the dance floor opens, occasional use later. Add a refill when one of the following applies.

• Continuous operation. A full reservoir gives roughly 2-3 hours of continuous auto-mode running. Events that want fog or bubbles going non-stop through a long evening will exhaust the included fill.
• Multiple machines. Two or more machines share the workload but each carries its own tank. A two-machine setup running through a full evening usually needs at least one refill.
• Outdoor and coastal venues. Wind disperses both fog and bubbles far faster than in a room. Terraces, gardens and beach positions along the Dalmatian coast consume noticeably more fluid for the same visible effect — if your venue is exposed, budget for a refill.
• All-day events. Anything running from an afternoon ceremony through to a late finish.

If you are unsure, tell us the event length and whether the machines will be indoors or out when you book, and we will advise whether a refill is worth adding. It is cheaper to have an unused 5 litres on the van than to run dry at midnight.

Practical Notes

The fluid is water-based and low-residue, which is what makes it acceptable at hotels, restaurants and heritage venues. It does not stain fabric or leave a film on floors under normal use, though as with any fog effect we recommend keeping the machine away from a polished stone floor where a slow drip could collect.

Fog machines need a few minutes to reach operating temperature after filling, so top up before guests arrive rather than during the event. Bubble machines are immediate but should be run briefly after filling to prime the system.

Smoke detectors are the real consideration, not the fluid itself. Any fog effect can trigger an optical detector, and Croatian hotels and venues generally do not permit isolating a fire system for an event. Confirm with the venue before booking a fog machine at all — this is a question for the venue’s technical manager, and it is worth asking early, because a machine you cannot use is a wasted line on the quote.

Unused fluid stays with us; you are charged per fill used, so there is no risk in adding one as insurance.

No. Every Smoke Machine and Bubble Machine rental includes one tank fill in the EUR 50 daily price. Order this refill only if you expect to use more than one tank — typically continuous operation, multiple machines, an outdoor venue, or an all-day event.

How long does a 5 litre fill last?

Roughly 2-3 hours of continuous auto-mode operation, and considerably longer with the intermittent use typical at a wedding — a single fill usually covers a 4-6 hour reception. Outdoors, where wind disperses the effect, consumption is higher.

Is the fluid safe for indoor venues, hotels and heritage buildings?

The fluid is water-based and low-residue, which is why it is accepted at most hotels and restaurants. The practical constraint is not the fluid but the fire alarm: optical smoke detectors can be triggered by any fog effect, and most Croatian venues will not isolate their system for an event. Can the same fluid be used in both the smoke machine and the bubble machine?

Yes — the 5 litre fill we supply works in both, which is why it is priced as a single line rather than two. If you are running both machines at one event, one refill covers whichever runs out first.

What happens to fluid I order but do not use?

You are charged per fill actually used. Unused fluid comes back with us at collection at no cost, so adding one as a contingency for a long or outdoor event carries no downside.
