The L’Acoustics LA4X is the standard amplified controller for SYVA, A-Series, and Kara line array systems. It is the required driver for any L’Acoustics passive speaker rental from our inventory and is always rented alongside the speaker, technician, and required cabling.

This product is priced on request because the LA4X quantity, configuration, and bundled accessories depend on the speaker system size and event requirements.

What an Amplified Controller Actually Does

The LA4X is not a conventional power amp. L’Acoustics passive cabinets like SYVA and SUB KS21 are designed as one half of a system — the other half is the amplified controller running the factory preset for that exact cabinet. The preset carries the crossover, EQ voicing, phase alignment, and driver protection limiting that make the speaker perform to specification. Drive the same cabinet from a generic amplifier and you get neither the sound nor the safety margins the system was engineered for; this is why we never split the pairing.

Each LA4X delivers four channels of 1000 W at 4 Ω (bridgeable to 2 × 4000 W) from a compact 2U rack unit, with DSP, delay, and per-output preset assignment on board. That is enough headroom to run a full SYVA + SYVA BASS pair from a single unit in most configurations, keeping the amp rack small enough to hide at design-conscious venues — a real advantage at villa weddings and gala dinners where production should be invisible.

Why It Matters at Croatian Venues

Two LA4X capabilities earn their keep on the Croatian event circuit. First, L-NET network control: our technician tunes the system from the mix position or a laptop anywhere in the venue during soundcheck — adjusting zones, delays, and levels without touching the rack. In a stone courtyard in Split or a fortress venue above the city, where reflections make tuning genuinely difficult, being able to walk the room while adjusting the system is the difference between adequate and excellent sound.

Second, the LA4X’s universal power supply with PFC (power factor correction) tolerates the imperfect mains found at older stone venues and generator-fed island estates. We still verify power during the site advance — but the amplifier itself is built for exactly the conditions destination events produce.

The LA4X never appears on a quote alone. A typical premium wedding package reads: SYVA pair + SYVA BASS pair + 1–2 × LA4X + cabling + technician + transport. Larger or louder systems (KS21 quad packs, bigger arrays) step up to the LA12X instead, or combine both units across the rig. Our technician decides the amplifier count and channel assignment when designing the system for your venue and guest count — you simply tell us the event, and the quote arrives with the amplification already engineered in and every line itemized, technician time (EUR 120/hr) included.

Can I rent the LA4X on its own?

No — and you would not want to. The LA4X is quoted as part of a complete L’Acoustics system with the cabinets, cabling, and technician, because the factory presets tie the amplifier and speakers together into one engineered product. LA4X or LA12X — which does my event need?

That is our decision to make, not yours to worry about: the choice follows from the cabinet types, the array size, and the SPL target. As a rule of thumb, SYVA-based wedding and gala systems run on LA4X; KS21 sub stacks and large arrays run on the LA12X. The quote names the exact configuration.

Does the LA4X work with Croatian venue power?

Yes. It runs on standard 230V/50Hz mains, and its universal power supply with power factor correction is tolerant of the voltage behaviour typical of historic buildings and generator-fed island venues. Power requirements for the full system are confirmed with the venue during the site advance.

Why is a technician obligatory?

Configuration is the product. Preset selection, output routing, gain structure, and on-site tuning over L-NET determine whether a passive L’Acoustics system sounds world-class or wrong — and protect the cabinets from damage. Our technician handles all of it, from load-in to teardown, billed at EUR 120/hr and always itemized upfront in the quote.
