Yacht DJ FAQ
Can your DJs play on actual moving yachts?
Yes. We brief the DJ on yacht-specific limitations: securing equipment for movement, salt-spray protection, captain-approved volume curves, and quick teardown if the wind changes. For day charters we work the deck plan in advance. For overnight charters we add a small backup kit in case anything fails offshore.
What equipment fits on a yacht deck?
For day-charter yachts (10–25m): a Pioneer XDJ-RX3 controller with a Bose L1 Pro 8 system covers up to 60 guests on deck without crowding the space. For superyachts (40m+): full CDJ-3000 + DJM-A9 setup with discreet built-in audio integration. All equipment travels in flight cases that fit through standard yacht companionways.
How does power work on a yacht?
Most yachts have 16A or 32A shore power at the dock and inverter/generator power offshore. We discuss the power profile with the captain or charter manager before the event. Battery-powered options (Soundboks Gen.3, Bose S1 Pro Plus) are available for total power independence on smaller boats or for setups where running the generator is undesirable.
What is the price range for a yacht DJ booking?
Day-charter DJ with compact PA: EUR 800–1,200. Full superyacht event with international rider-spec setup: EUR 1,500–2,500. Multi-day yacht residencies (e.g. a guest week): negotiable on day rate. Travel to/from the yacht is included in pricing for departures from Split, Hvar, Dubrovnik. ACI marinas elsewhere: ferry/logistics quoted separately.
Can you handle yacht events outside peak season?
Yes. October–April yacht events still happen — corporate charters, boat-show season, end-of-season crew parties. Pricing is more flexible off-peak, and weather contingency becomes more important. We add covered-deck protocol and backup indoor venue planning when storms are possible.
