Island Logistics That Don't Embarrass You

We've done ferries in flat July glass and shoulder-season storms. The protocol below is what keeps your event on time when an "easy" Hvar delivery becomes complicated.

  • Day-before arrival, always: Equipment lands on Hvar at least 18 hours before the event. Ferry cancellations cannot stop your wedding.
  • Redundant key components: Every island delivery includes a backup wireless mic, a backup mixer channel, and a spare power supply. One failed cable doesn't stop a ceremony.
  • Salt + wind protection: Marine-grade speaker placement, weighted stands, cable covers rated for outdoor. Our gear comes back to Split rinsed.
  • Heritage compliance: We know noise cutoffs (23:00 most venues, 22:00 Old Town squares) and bring volume-curve programming that respects them while keeping the floor full.

How does ferry delivery to Hvar work?

We drive equipment from our Split warehouse to Split Ferry Port, cross to Stari Grad on the Jadrolinija car ferry (around 2 hours including loading), then drive to your Hvar venue. Total transit time from Split to Hvar Town is approximately 4 hours. For destination weddings, we deliver the day before — never same-day, because ferry weather cancellations are real. Cost: EUR 400–650 depending on equipment volume and time of year.

What if the ferry is cancelled due to weather?

Adriatic storms can cancel ferry crossings, especially in shoulder season. Our protocol: arrive at the venue 24h before the event with a full equipment load. If the next-day ferry is cancelled, your event still has equipment on-site. For peak-summer events we also keep a small backup kit on Hvar with a local partner.

Can you handle weddings at remote Hvar coves and villas?

Yes. We have battery-powered PA systems (Bose S1 Pro, Soundboks Gen.3) designed for off-grid coastal ceremonies — no power outlets, no extension cords, no diesel generator humming in the background. The setup runs 6–8 hours on a single charge. We have venue access maps for Brusje, Sveta Nedjelja, and most boutique Hvar locations.

Do you provide a technician for Hvar events?

For island events, we strongly recommend a technician — ferry logistics, salt-air maintenance, and beach setup all benefit from someone who has done it before. The technician travels with the equipment, sets up, runs the event, strikes, and returns to Split. Multi-day events get a single technician across all days. Technician fee: EUR 250–450 depending on event duration.

How does multi-day rental pricing work for Hvar?

Most Hvar events run multi-day (rehearsal dinner + wedding day + post-wedding lunch). Equipment stays at your venue for the full duration. We charge full first-day rate, then 50% for day two, and 30% for each additional day. Most 3-day Hvar wedding rentals land in the EUR 1,500–3,200 range including ferry logistics and a technician.

Can I rent equipment in Hvar without delivery from Split?

Not directly — we are a Split-based rental house and our equipment lives there. However, if you already have the gear on Hvar and need add-ons (specific microphones, a backup mixer, a missing speaker), we can ship via passenger ferry as next-day cargo. Better path: book the full kit through us with island delivery.
