The RCF ART 915-A is a 15-inch two-way active speaker producing up to 131 dB SPL from a 2100W two-channel amplifier, rented as a pair from EUR 230 per day. It is the loudest full-range box in our inventory that a two-person crew can still carry up a flight of stairs, which makes it the workhorse for dance floors of 80-300 guests at Croatian venues where a line array is neither practical nor necessary. Speaker stands are included in the price.

Ideal For

  • Wedding dance floors of 100-300 guests where the ceremony PA is not enough for the evening
  • Outdoor terraces and courtyards that need real output without a subwoofer stack
  • Live bands and DJ sets at bars, beach clubs and villa events
  • Corporate presentations in large halls, where speech intelligibility across a wide room matters
  • Delay or fill positions alongside a larger system in long or L-shaped venues

Not Ideal For

  • Ceremonies and background music — the Bose S1 Pro Plus at EUR 80 per piece is the proportionate choice
  • Events with no mains power — these are active speakers and need 230V; use Soundboks 4 instead
  • Bass-heavy electronic sets above 250 guests — pair with the Pioneer XPRS 1182S subwoofers rather than pushing the 915s alone
  • Venues with strict visual requirements — the enclosure is a functional black box; the Bose L1 column arrays are far less visible

Why Rent This

Most Croatian wedding and event venues sit in an awkward middle ground. A pair of compact PA speakers runs out of headroom once the dance floor fills, but a full line array is oversized, over-budget and needs rigging that a stone terrace cannot provide. The ART 915-A is built for exactly that gap: enough output to hold a 300-guest dance floor, in a 20 kg composite cabinet that goes on a pole in under a minute.

The DSP is what separates it from generic 15-inch boxes. FiRPHASE applies phase-linear filtering so the system keeps its transient detail and stereo image at high level — vocals stay intelligible when the room is loud, which is the difference between a PA that sounds powerful and one that just sounds shouty. Bass Motion Control manages excursion at the low end, so the woofer stays clean rather than compressing into mush when a kick drum arrives at full level.

The True Resistive Waveguide gives a genuinely constant 100° x 60° pattern. In practice this means the guests at the edges of a wide Dalmatian terrace hear roughly what the guests in the middle hear, instead of a bright spot on the axis and a dull mush everywhere else.

Technical Deep Dive

The 15-inch woofer uses a 3-inch voice coil, paired with a 1.75-inch compression driver on the waveguide. The two-channel Class-D amplifier delivers 2100W peak with the crossover, limiting and equalisation handled in DSP rather than passively, so each transducer is driven with a filter tuned specifically to it.

Maximum SPL is 131 dB. For context, that is roughly 10 dB above a typical compact PA box — ten times the acoustic power — and comfortably more headroom than a 300-guest dance floor requires. Running a system inside its headroom rather than at its limit is what keeps the sound clean late in the evening, and it is the main practical reason to specify the 915 over a smaller pair.

The enclosure is a polypropylene composite with an internal M-brace, which keeps the cabinet rigid without the weight of plywood. Multiple rigging points allow pole mounting, wall brackets, truss clamps or flying, though for the vast majority of our Croatian bookings these go on tripod stands either side of the dance floor.

Power is standard 230V/50Hz via powerCON-style connectors, and each cabinet draws well within a normal 16A domestic circuit. On generator-fed island venues we still recommend checking the supply — see our island logistics notes — but the ART 915-A is tolerant of the voltage sag that older Dalmatian wiring can produce.

What’s Included

  • 2x RCF ART 915-A active speakers
  • 2x speaker stands (included in the price)
  • 2x IEC power cables
  • 2x balanced XLR cables
  • Protective covers for transport

Setup and Operation Guide

Position the two cabinets either side of the dance floor or performance area, on stands at roughly 1.8 metres so the horns clear seated guests’ heads. Angle them inward so the coverage patterns cross at the far edge of the audience rather than at the front — a common mistake is aiming both boxes straight ahead, which leaves the middle loud and the sides thin.

Run balanced XLR from the DJ system or mixer to each cabinet. Set the input gain on the speakers to a fixed sensible position and control the overall level from the mixer; chasing level at both ends is how systems end up distorting. Power the speakers on last and off first to avoid switching transients through the drivers.

For an indoor stone-walled venue, expect the low end to reinforce significantly. Keep the cabinets away from corners and use the onboard EQ to pull back the low-mid if the room sounds boomy at soundcheck.

Venue Considerations

Stone and marble interiors — old-town restaurants, fortress halls, palace cellars — reflect strongly and reverberate. The 915’s controlled directivity is a real asset here, because it puts less energy into the walls and ceiling than a wide-dispersion box would. Aim the cabinets down into the audience rather than across the room.

Outdoor terraces and gardens lose bass to the open air, and guests at the far edge will notice it first. Two 915s on stands cover most terrace layouts, but for anything longer than about 20 metres consider adding a delay pair or stepping up to the Bose F1 Model 812 with its adjustable vertical coverage.

Beach and coastal positions bring salt air and sand. The composite enclosure handles humidity better than plywood, but we still cover the cabinets between soundcheck and the event and ask that they are not placed directly on sand without a base.

Croatian noise limits apply at many venues, particularly in residential old-town areas after 23:00. The 915 has more than enough output to exceed those limits, so agree a ceiling with the venue in advance; our technician can set a limiter if the venue requires it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests will a pair of RCF ART 915-A speakers cover?

A pair comfortably covers 80-300 guests for a wedding or party. At the lower end you will be running well inside the system’s headroom, which is exactly where it sounds best. Above roughly 250 guests with bass-heavy music, we recommend adding a subwoofer rather than pushing the 915s harder.

Are speaker stands included in the rental price?

Yes. The EUR 230 daily rate for the pair includes two stands, power cables and balanced XLR cables. This matches our standard policy across the speaker range — stands for monitors are included in the price.

How does the RCF ART 915-A compare with the Bose F1 Model 812?

The Bose F1 Model 812 at EUR 370 per pair has an articulated array that lets you physically shape the vertical coverage — straight, C or J — which is useful in venues with balconies, raked seating or a long narrow shape. The RCF ART 915-A has more raw output and costs EUR 140 less per day. For a standard dance floor, the 915 is the better value; for an awkwardly shaped room where coverage control matters more than maximum level, the F1 earns its premium.

Do I need a technician to operate these?

No. Unlike our L-Acoustics passive systems, the ART 915-A is fully active with onboard DSP — plug in power and a signal cable and it works. We deliver, place and set the system up as part of a standard rental. A technician is only needed if you want someone running sound through the event.

Can these be used outdoors at a beach or terrace venue?

Yes, and they are one of our most-requested options for exactly that. The composite enclosure tolerates coastal humidity well. We ask that the cabinets are kept off bare sand, covered when not in use, and given some shelter from direct spray. In a Bura wind, speakers on stands need weighting or strapping regardless of model — our crew handles that at setup.
